| And the winner is.....Cindy Peregolise. The Selection Committee decided Cindy’s extraordinary public service commitment, work history and lengthy motorcycle experience made her deserving of the honor. “It is an absolute honor to be able to ride the bike and represent the company. I am still in shock that my peers thought that much of me to nominate me. I am so grateful for this opportunity,” Cindy said. The committee noted that Perry, Area Control Dispatcher, and Clint, Machine Shop Inspector, both have exceptional qualifications as well, making the final decision difficult. The three finalists all received multiple nominations from their peers, and in the end stood out based on the selection criteria involving number of nominations, community involvement, use of ACE tools, effective teamwork, and commitment to ethics. The three received a questionnaire and were given the opportunity to provide all the relevant information. The three will each have the opportunity to have their photographs taken with the Orange County Choppers celebrities who will attend Sunday’s event. Cindy’s extensive background both at work and in the community impressed the committee and gave her the edge. Cindy founded and serves as President of Bikers Against Animal Cruelty (B.A.A.C.), Inc., a non-profit organization of motorcycle enthusiasts who advocate against animal cruelty and promote responsible pet ownership. She volunteers countless hours working in animal shelters, assisting with animal rescues, and transporting animals from high kill shelters to those that do not dispose of orphan animals. When not caring for and saving animals, she spends a lot of time tending to the administrative duties that keep her organization running. Cindy said, “Thanks to the help of friends and fellow motorcyclists, we have been able to help many animals in need. My dream is that B.A.A.C. will spread nationwide so that other compassionate motorcycle enthusiasts can join in to save our animals.” As an IT Business Analyst at Helicopter Support Services, Cindy manages many projects, which include migration of the company’s domain system, upgrading the H.S.I. network onto the UTC exchange server, and implementing a backup system for the network to eliminate use of tapes or disks. Cindy also is very involved in the IT ACE journey. She created many of the standard work procedures for the department and actively participates in QCPC meetings. Her efforts were instrumental in helping IT bypass ACE Silver and achieve ACE Gold. Her impressive work performance has earned her two special awards in the past five years and recognition last year as an “Employee of the Quarter.” Perry’s community service has included coaching Pop Warner football, Recreational League soccer, and Boys and Girls Club basketball, as well as serving in the “Servants of Christ” motorcycle ministry. Clint, meanwhile, is a frequent participant in charity motorcycle rides and provided strong support for a fellow employee undergoing cancer rehabilitation. Cindy will ride the Tribute Motorcycle for the first hour of the ride, after which the bike will be returned to the Stratford plant for photo opportunities, with the proceeds benefiting the annual Community Giving Campaign. Individuals can have their pictures taken with the bike for $5, families (of two or more people) for $10. |
